Welcome this sweet and cozy older newborn photography session to the blog today. This session might just be my new favorite- it gives me all the feels! Nothing is sweeter than that new baby, new parent feeling. I just love how this session came together with all the intimate details, textures, and warm tones.
Most newborn sessions are usually scheduled around six to fourteen days old. The reason for this is if parents want sleepy, posed photos, then babies are usually the sleepiest during this time frame. The first few weeks after having a baby can be quite demanding and understandably, sometimes this window passes by before parents can schedule their newborn session.
If you are flexible with your expectations, or just simply do not want to miss this precious time in your family’s life, do not fear. Older newborn photography sessions are quite darling in my opinion! Little Miss was awake and smiling then asleep snuggled on her momma’s chest. These moments are just so tender and really tug at my heart.
The older my own children are, the more I adore photos like these. It isn’t the perfectly posed images- it’s the ones that make you remember the naps on your chest, the smell of their little heads, how they fit perfectly in your arms, and how their warm little bodies melt on you. This is what being a momma is all about.
If you have read any of the other blog posts, you know that baby details are my favorite! A major benefit of an older newborn photography session? Those rolls have filled out to absolute perfection! I may have squealed when I saw her darling little legs.
