Burning questions about what to expect at your newborn session? We have you covered today with the most commonly asked questions when it comes to booking your newborn session.
Please note that every photographer does things differently.
How do I schedule my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are reserved by due date- we take a limited number of sessions each month to allow for flexibility with scheduling. I like to wait until everyone is settled in at home to pick a session date. This allows everyone to make sure recovery is going well and baby is establishing eating.
Do we get all the images from the newborn session and/ or raw images?
Typically there are 40-50 photos to choose from in your gallery. No, I do not give out raw photos but can assure that every photo worth keeping will be in your gallery. I only throw out the ones that are out of focus, someone is blinking, etc.
How old are the babies at the session?
We like to aim for your little one to be around seven to twenty one days old at the newborn session. This is when they are usually the sleepiest and can easily be moved from one set to another without being disturbed.
If your little one is born early, we have plenty of time! We count from your estimated due date on, so if your little one is born at 36 weeks, you have an eight week window of sleepiness.
If your baby is older than 3 weeks old, no problem. He/she might be more awake and make great eye contact! We understand that when babies arrive into the world that things do not always go as you plan.
