Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018
By Cleveland Photographer Mary Christine Photography
The New Year brings on a time for reflection on the past 365 days and thinking on to the twelve months that lie ahead. It’s one of my favorite times to look back on my personal goals, life, and business as a Cleveland Photographer. It helps me analyze what worked, what can be improved on, and where I want to go in the next year.
My husband got me a robotic vacuum for Christmas. Best. Gift. Ever. Between the two kids and new puppy, vacuuming seems to be an endless chore in our house. As we sat there and watched this thing literally clean for us in awe, I couldn’t help think that this was the future. The 1980’s version of ourselves would be wowed.
Our kids on the other hand, were not so impressed. The world they know is so engrossed with technology that this seemed normal to them was mind boggling. So here my husband and I sit, watching a robot that does work for us, while our children could care less.
2017 was a great year for our family. My husband completed his first half Ironman. I am so proud of him! My oldest is reading chapter books and seems more and more like a big kid every day (sass included). Our youngest is in her last year of preschool and our district just decided to do all day kindergarten next year, which will be a huge transition for me next year.
2017 was also a great year for my business. I met some amazing families and got to learn from some of the world’s best photographers. The new year has high expectations to compare to the previous year. I feel so blessed to be a Cleveland photographer and that so many choose me to capture their family’s important moments.
So from my family to yours, happy new year! May this year bring you much happiness and good health. Here’s to a great 2018!
